Vision test is done at the center. Fee $50 - License is valid for 5 years.
Temporary License is issued immediately - Permanent license is sent through the mail. Need passport or some other proof of Date of Birth. Need to know your height in cm. Old license is retained by the center.
Take a copy of your new license and write to your previous province for a reimbursement. (Best to get applicable forms from your "old" province before you leave - also you must advise your old province of your change of address before you leave - otherwise there may be a $300 fine!).

Need vehicle safety certificate - can be obtained from most garages - suggest you go to your dealership with record of past services. Also need proof of Insurance and current Drivers License.

- Previous Province's Health card is good for 3 months - apply as soon as possible. Must register in person at 201 City Center Drive, Mississauga (near Square One). Must have Passport or Birth Certificate and proof of address in Ontario eg: Drivers License, phone bill or lease. Parents can register children under 15 1/2 yrs.
Schools:
-Kindergarten to Grade 5 (school depends on location).
-Grade 6 to 8 - Middle School - only two in the area
- Centennial Middle School (905) 877-6976 which has an early French immersion program - approx. 650 students.
-Stewarttown Middle School (905) 873-1637 - has late French immersion program - a smaller school.
-High School - Georgetown District High School - Grade 9 up.
Garbage Collection / Recycling:
Phillips Environmental Group (905) 878-8113 Ext:6034 will send a calendar outlining all information regarding collections and recycling - Garbage collection weekly. Recycling every two weeks
- Recycling bin (Blue box) can be purchased at local hardware stores.
