Super liens are ranked even higher in priority than a previously registered first mortgage.

Super liens:

- Unpaid realty taxes

- Unpaid Hydro and water charges(except accounts set up in a tenant's name)

- Unpaid common expenses in condominiums

- Unpaid cost of municipally authorized renovations, repairs and demolitions

- Unpaid clean up costs under the Environmental Protection Act

- Unpaid workers lien rights must be registered against the title of the property within 45 days after work is substantially completed and a lawsuit must be commenced and a Certificate of Action registered within 90 days of substantial performance. Most construction liens do not have priority over previously registered mortgages, with one key exception, mortgage advances made after any claim for lien is registered.
